Aunt Vicki / Uncle Mike & Cousin Jullian

To wrap up the weekend we headed to North vancouver to see the Family. Aunt Vicki / Uncle Mike & Cousin Jullian had a BBQ and Grandpa Yakov and Grandma Elizabeth were there too. While Mike and Vikki made gourmet burgers and a colorful salad I bounced on Grandpa's lap and tasted some of the white wine that he and grandma recently bottled.

Shopping at Oakridge Mall

After all the action M&D took me shopping for some stuff. I got these cool glasses, but everyone in the mall started calling me Elton (which sounds nothing like Joella...)

I picked up some Baby-monolos and these 2 designer spring skirts from the spring show at Bryant Park for $799. (The rents are going to kill me when they get the bill next month.)

JCCGV Charity Hockey Game

After Dim Sum we headed over to Kerrisdale to meet up with the mishpukah and to see Mike the Chiropractor skating with some x-Cunucks. It was colder inside than it was outside and all the people on the rink had hats and sticks.

The game featured members of the Vancouver Canucks’ Alumni Team playing alongside all-stars of the JCCGV Hockey League. Almuni members like Kirk McLean, Richard Brodeur, Cliff Ronning or Dave Babych will sign autographs

We saw Dr. Michael and Katherine the nurse, Baila from Tastierdates.com, Jeremy and Rosa as well as lots of kids. We had hot chocolate and sticki buns and we had seats in the second row.

Lunch with Ella & Orlando @ Floata

After Sushi the other day I thought I had seen it all.

But then on Sunday, I found out that my mom had made me a lunch date with my friend Ella and her brother Orlando at FLOATA Dim-Sum in Chinatown. I was so suprised at the cool pink raincoat that they got me. I can't wait to wear it.

Next thing you know, my mom's friends showed up too. Their mother Galit, Aunti Rory, Inessa, Ed the IT guy and his good friend from Switzerland. We sat in the biggest room I have ever been in. The huge round table was filled with mini dishes of this and that.

Ella ordered us some orange juices and we tried several dishes like Hoggau, Chinese pancakes, veggis and noodle dishes.

Sushi....Yummi

Today was exciting! I thought that those fish were only behind the glass. Lately I have had an appetite to try to eat anything I can get into my mouth. Today I got a chance to try a Japanese restaurant called Shabusen Yakiniku House a Japanese and Korean BBQ house on Burrard Street.

More than anything I really appreciated the size of the little tables that they provide for small people like me. I am 63cm now and this table was a perfect fit.

We sat at a hibachi table that looked like a wooden boat and talked to our friends Josh the Naval officer and Rira fom Japan.

I got so full I passed out in my basket. Sushi is my new favorite food. (Here is a photo blog about sushi)

Go ahead and leave me comments about other great sushi places that you suggest I try. (That is an example of how my blog works)

CHSN Mascot Ram Story

Mountain Goat
Originally uploaded by jamieanne.
Today I heard a funny story about dad, Mom told her friends to be careful what they challenge my father to.

Apparently when he was in High School he promissed that he would get the school a mascot if he were elected class president. (He won!) So, he talked to grandpa, who talked to Cowboy Al, who talked to the importer in barbados and he was able to get a mascot RAM like this.

"RAM-bo" was tied up in the yard until an annoyed neighbor let him of the leash and after days of chasing the loose ram, the opposing team the "Vivkings" claimed to had captured and killed the poor thing.

After over hearing that story, I vow never to eat curry goat when I get my teeth.

Standing Up Already

Standing Up Already
Originally uploaded by LifestYle Broker.

At 17 weeks I am getting the hang of balancing by myself and soon I will figure out how to get from sitting to standing. This afternoon I am going with M&D to have a luncheon with their friends that are visiting from Japan.

This morning I practiced playing the digital piano, Daddy read a book called "Look what I can See" to me and we practiced the A,B,C's like we do everymorning.

Mom bought me this outfit yesterday and I love it! It is a Vancouver Style double sleeved top and blue jeans with butterfly stitching on the thighs.

I through on a cool Daddy's Girl Bib to complete the outfit and to get dad to take pictures of me for my blog. (He loves when I wear the Big Daddy Collection :-)

How my parents met

CRAIG PRAVDA AND JHENNIA SOLOVYOV

How a Jewish couple from opposite ends of the continent found each other and came to live together. Adjacent is a picture from December 26, 2004 at the Milestones over looking English Bay.

Read their story, which was covered in a local community paper : Click here)

My Father

My father grew up in a similar neighborhood outside of New York City in a town called New City, NY. After attending Syracuse University, in upper New York State, and studying architecture in Florence, Italy he began designing stuff in New York City. Eventually, he developed a new building type called Officehomes(tm) which is a franchise of housing for entrepeneurs like himself and my mother.

My Mother

My mother grew up in a subburb of Vancouver, (Lattner, BC) where she was raised until she headed to Japan to attend University Hokyto. While she persuing her degree in asian studies, she worked part time negotiating business deals between Russian and Japanese businessmen (Her 2 other fluent languages). When she returned to Canada, she opened a conversation school that caters to foreign business professionals who want to learn to converse better with business people here in the west.

Welcome to My Blog

Welcome

In an attempt to provide friends and family with the latest updates of my life, my experiences and my thoughts, I have asked my father to creat a personal weblog in which each of you may periodically check into and participate with me in documenting life.

There are many ways to add content such as Film, Pictures, Audio, by email, by web, and many more ways which we can discuss the next time we get together.

I wish all of you well and I hope we can get to gether soon.
